This October, The Courtyard Playhouse will transform into a world of spells, sorcery and spectacular surprises as it launches its very first Month of Magic.

Throughout the month, the UAE’s only dedicated improv theatre will take on a new enchanted life, with all regular shows given a magical twist. Audiences can expect improvisers to conjure new tales of magic and mayhem on the spot, inspired by audience suggestions and brimming with laughter, friendship, and a touch of wizarding mischief.

For families, the Playhouse unveils a brand-new kids’ show, Wand of Truth, where young witches and wizards are swept up in an imaginative adventure that celebrates bravery and creativity. There’s also the Little Wizards Quiz, inviting children and parents to put their Hogwarts knowledge to the test, and a Half-Term Holiday Camp where kids can train in the magical art of drama and improvisation, build confidence, and discover the joy of storytelling.

Adults can join in the fun too with their own Quiz That Must Not Be Named, weekly improv nights every Monday and Wednesday, where the Playhouse ensemble puts a magical twist on their spontaneous comedy and theatre shows. The month culminates in a special Halloween Theatresports™, our high-energy improv battle where teams of performers face off in spooky challenges for points, prizes, and plenty of laughs.

Another highlight of the season is The Greatest Magic Show Ever – a comedy-infused evening of illusion and laughter. The night kicks off with a round of playful improv, fuelled by audience suggestions and quick-fire games. Then, magician and stand-up comedian Annanya George joins forces with Rushdi Rafeek, blending illusion, comedy and improvisation to conjure a show full of surprises. Expect laughter, wonder and the extraordinary unfolding live on stage.

Adding to the excitement, the theatre will also welcome an international guest instructor for a series of special workshops and masterclasses.
