INDUK TAEKWONDO offers classes that benefits children, ranging from physical fitness and self-defense skills to personal development and character building - in a fun and engaging way to stay active!
Whether your toddler is a mini dynamo or quiet and introverted in nature, 'Induk TODDLERS’ program will help harness that energy and also encourage engagement in a social environment! The energetic and dynamic nature of the martial art, coupled with a structured training regimen, keep the young students entertained, while they learn.
During lessons, children will learn basic punches and kicks, together with movements for balance and flexibility. Through play and engaging activities, they are taught discipline and concentration - to follow instructions, and to respect their peers, in a fun and social environment.
Physically, taekwondo helps develop strength, speed, flexibility and stamina. Through exercises like stretching, kicking and footwork drills, children enhance their balance, agility, and motor skills. The combination of aerobic and anaerobic movements during training sessions contributes to building strong muscles and bones, fostering a healthy lifestyle from an early age.
For older children (5 to 14 years old), the ‘Induk KIDZ’ program will complement your child’s development and encourage the best out of him or her. General curriculum includes hand & kicking techniques, learning the Taeguk (forms), sparring techniques and self-defense. The practice of forms (sequences of movements) and techniques require focus and attention to detail, helping children improve their concentration and mental clarity. In addition, the emphasis on moral development, also teaches them the importance of respect for their instructors as well as their peers. These skills can be transferred to other areas of their lives, such as schoolwork and daily tasks.
All our students are encouraged to train at their own pace - Through positive attitudes and discipline, they set their own goals - such as achieving higher belt levels. Thus boosting their sense of accomplishment and belief in their abilities.
Upon attaining the POOM Belt (Junior Black Belt), students will understand that this is only the beginning of their taekwondo training! The ‘POOM Club’ classes are exclusive for POOM Belt holders. Apart from preparing them for their 2nd POOM and/or higher POOM promotion; focus is also on the use of power, accuracies and finer points in techniques.
Taekwondo is a fantastic activity for children, as it provides them with a holistic approach to physical and emotional growth and teaches them to avoid confrontation whenever possible and instead to use their skills responsibly.
