Hear stories of Singapore’s colourful past as we delve into the legends and stories originating from this sunny island.

  • 7 August – The Legend of Bukit Merah

Angry swordfish once attacked a small fishing village in Singapura, but a brave boy called Nadim had a plan to save his family and friends! Join our Young Storyteller from The Storytelling Centre to find out more about his clever plan.

  • 14 August – The Strongman of Singapura

Have you heard of the Singapore stone? Join our Young Storyteller from The Storytelling Centre to learn why Badang was forced to throw a huge rock into the Singapore River, and how he transformed from a slave boy into Badang the Mighty!

  • 21 August – A Tale of Two Friends

Monkey and Mrs Crocodile were two unlikely friends who loved eating mangoes, but Mrs Crocodile was hoarding all the animals’ fruit! Join our Young Storyteller from The Storytelling Centre to find out the truth behind it all.

  • 28 August – Small and Smart!

Sang Kancil the mouse deer had run out of fruit. She had to cross the river to find some more. Join our Young Storyteller from The Storytelling Centre to find out how she cleverly tricked the crocodile, Sang Buaya, to get to the other side!
