Step into a colourful world of stories, imagination and discovery with My Little Chingay Float — a children’s book inspired by Chingay Parade.
Through the adventures of Meena and her friends as they build their very own float for the Chingay Parade, young readers are introduced to the spirit of Chingay and Singapore’s rich cultural heritage.
As part of ongoing efforts to celebrate and share Singapore’s multicultural traditions with younger generations, My Little Chingay Float storytelling sessions are designed for young children and their families. Guided by trained storytelling volunteers, the sessions bring the story to life in English and mother tongue languages through interactive readings and activities.
Families can also enjoy hands-on activities such as designing mini Chingay floats and postcard-writing, offering opportunities for creativity, participation, and meaningful parent-child bonding.
Public storytelling sessions and family activities will be held on various dates and at locations, including public libraries, pre-schools, and participating organisations’ events such as M3 @ Towns, and the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre. Free admission, registration may be required through participating organisations.
