A Gothic Halloween

A Gothic Halloween

From cathedralesque grandeur to ethereal beauty to fearsome spectacle - how many ways can Halloween come alive in music?

The SSO Organ Series's popular Halloween night returns again with music across the ages - heavenly prayers, mighty pipe organ toccatas and eerie nocturnes. The Singapore Symphony Chorus lends its voices to a selection of Gregorian chant, stormy lied and frantic pleas to fickle Fortune, ending with Choral Director Eudenice Palaruan's Caña.

  • Boëllmann - Introduction from Suite Gothique
  • Poulenc - Selections from Quatre petites prières de Saint François d’Assise
  • J.S. Bach - Fugue in G minor, BWV 578
  • Anonymous - De profundis clamavi (arr. Eudenice Palaruan)
  • Bartók - Notturno from Mikrocosmos Vol. 4

  • Boëllmann - Toccata from Suite Gothique
  • Eudenice Palaruan - Caña
